April 15 Message to Clients
Hello BeMovers - just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and missing seeing and dancing with you. I sincerely hope that you and your families are staying healthy. I also hope that everyone is somehow finding moments of peace whenever possible.
Our weekly virtual BeMoved classes are going well, and are ongoing until we can return to the studios, so if you haven't joined us yet, please consider it. It's so nice to see everyone and I guarantee you will thank yourself after class. Those of you who have joined me for class, I hope you're having as much fun as I am! It's obviously not the same as a 'real class', but we're making the best of this chance to dance together without leaving home (Mayor Lightfoot approved :)).
I'm having fun teaching jazz classes again (Mondays 6pm) and Creative Movement for Kids (Sat 3pm), and welcome you and your family to check out all the classes offered on the Virtual Dance Lab. There are morning dance jams every day that are accessible and really creative and fun, as well as yoga almost every day with Raheim (who you will remember if you've seen Lucky Plush lately), he's completing his yoga certification and his beautiful soul shines right through Zoom and into you. If you have friends who might be interested in Virtual Dance Lab, please help spread the word.
I just learned this morning that, thanks to the generosity of BeMovers and friends, my classes have brought in over $1,500 in donations!!! I am truly blown away by this. These funds go directly to the Lucky Plush dancers, which makes my heart swell with gratitude. Thank you a million times over for helping these incredibly talented artists during this very difficult time.
I want to be sure that you're aware too that Sherry Zunker, Founder and Creator of BeMoved, is offering recorded BeMoved classes on a 2-week rotating schedule. This option allows you to take class anytime of day that suits you. You can learn more about this and other offerings on the "Notes" page.
There are a lot of great dance performances being made available to watch online right now. Lucky Plush was supposed to perform at the Cultural Center at the end of this month, which will now be a broadcast of a recorded performance and a live discussion with the artists. If you are interested, here's where you can learn more about this virtual event.
Again, I want to hear from you if I haven't already, so that I know you are safe and well. Also, if you have something that you are offering that BeMovers might be interested in during this quarantine, please let me know so that I can share it on my Facebook page (for example, Micki L. is offering yoga class on Monday mornings). We're all in this together. Please be well until we can be together again.
